Homemade Hot Chocolate Recipe

This homemade hot chocolate recipe is quick, easy, and uses simple ingredients!

Ingredients

1/2 cup cacao

1/3 cup water

1/4 cup maple syrup

1/2 tsp salt

3 cups milk

1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Combine cacao, water, maple syrup, and salt in a saucepan. Place over medium heat and bring to a simmer. Whisk constantly.
  2. Add 3 cups of milk to the mixture and whisk until everything is heated through. You can use a thermometer, your finger, or just your good sense to tell when it’s warm enough (your preference). Make sure the temperature is low enough that the milk doesn’t scortch or boil.
  3. Remove from heat and add 1 tsp of vanilla extract.
  4. Pour into your mug, top with some marshmallows, and enjoy! This makes two servings
