Ingredients
1/2 cup cacao
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups milk
1 tsp vanilla
Equipment
Instructions
- Combine cacao, water, maple syrup, and salt in a saucepan. Place over medium heat and bring to a simmer. Whisk constantly.
- Add 3 cups of milk to the mixture and whisk until everything is heated through. You can use a thermometer, your finger, or just your good sense to tell when it’s warm enough (your preference). Make sure the temperature is low enough that the milk doesn’t scortch or boil.
- Remove from heat and add 1 tsp of vanilla extract.
- Pour into your mug, top with some marshmallows, and enjoy! This makes two servings
